You already have a working web app, but want a presence in the app store and access to native features? An app wrapper packages your existing web interface in a native iOS and Android shell. The interface stays what it is: a web app. Around it, we build the native layer that makes the app store, push, lock screen and CarPlay possible in the first place:
We embed your web app in a native shell, with Flutter or natively, depending on the project. The interface runs in a WebView, a single codebase is enough for the interface, while the shell bridges to the operating system.
To make the web interface and native functions work together, we build a JavaScript bridge. It translates between the web and native layers and passes state changes reliably in both directions.
Background streaming, lock-screen controls, AirPlay, CarPlay, push notifications, secure login handling: we add exactly the native capabilities that do not work, or do not work reliably, in the browser.
We prepare your app for the App Store and Google Play, taking care of store requirements, the review process and the release, so that your web app finds its way onto users' devices.
A wrapped app must function reliably across a wide range of devices and operating system versions. We test systematically, manually and automatically.
If you wish, we maintain your app long-term. Changes to the web interface take effect immediately, while native adjustments are maintained throughout the entire life cycle.
When is an app wrapper the right choice?
An app wrapper is a good fit when you already have a mature web app or PWA, want a presence in the app store and need only selected native functions, without rebuilding the interface natively a second time. If, on the other hand, an elaborate, animation-heavy interface, uncompromising performance or an offline-first scenario is the priority, a fully native app is the more reliable choice. And if you do not need an app store presence at all, a PWA is often faster and more economical. We are happy to advise you on which approach suits your product.
