talk.swiss is an app for training communication skills. With AI-powered analysis and interactive coaching, it helps managers, salespeople, job seekers and anyone who wants to communicate with impact. Milk Interactive redesigned and further developed the React Native app — for iOS and Android.

Less complexity, more clarity

The existing app had grown over time and was increasingly hitting its limits. In the redesign, we systematically simplified the user experience and modernised the interface. The aim: users should be able to focus on what matters, without fighting the app — and the app was to be aligned with the future strategy of talk.swiss.

Training with structure

Communication is not trained in a single session. talk guides users through short, interactive modules: video recordings, voice exercises, breathing exercises, flash cards. The 21-day ritual turns daily training into a habit — with tracking that makes progress visible. The practice categories cover the key dimensions: voice frequency, speech speed, emotional expression.

Practising the difficult conversation

We developed an AI chatbot with which users can simulate challenging conversations — a job interview with the company of their choice, a difficult negotiation, a presentation to the board. The chatbot responds realistically, provides feedback and makes it possible to rehearse exactly the situations that count in real life.

What the AI analyses

talk analyses communication on three levels using machine learning and speech recognition. The voice: frequency, speech speed, breathing technique. The body: live facial expression analysis and face orientation. The message: key messages, active or passive language style. Many of the analyses run directly on the device — TensorFlow Lite and CoreML enable on-device processing without a server round trip. For language models, we use Mistral LLMs to comply with European data protection standards and to avoid risks associated with the US Cloud Act.
